She still has that amazing voice from 40 years ago. When she sang Grizabella in “Cats” and became a musical diva!
“Memory”, this “Cats” classic, this goose bumps song.
“My grandmother once said: God put gold down your throat,” says Angelika Milster (70) and her infectious laugh fills the lobby of the Munich Hotel Splendid.
The Milster an der Isar will be on stage until the end of November, and in December she can be seen again in the Berlin Renaissance Theater with the play “Ewig Jung”.
But her thoughts are already in Berlin. Her old homeland, which she left for Switzerland 18 years ago because her husband, the producer André Bauer, lives there.
Milster to the BZ: “I’m a Berliner at heart. I love the people there, they are open and without reservations. There’s no maybe for them. Just yes or no. Berlin is a city you can survive in. You always get a sandwich there.”

She regularly drives to Berlin by car. Visits her son Benjamin, who has an antique shop, and her mother Lore (91) on Kudamm. She says: “I love my mum dearly. She is in great shape. At the moment she looks after my beloved dog Chico, which she often does when I’m on tour.”
Chico (18) is a Boxer Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. “More human than dog. I got it from Dieter Thomas Heck 13 years ago. He saved him off the streets in Spain. I miss him terribly when he’s not with me.”

Money, real estate, fame do not impress them. “It’s not about Versace tableware. To have or not, I don’t care. My greatest gifts are family, the stage – and Chico.”
