Porcupine Tree, the formation around musician and producer Steven Wilson, have announced a tour for the coming year – the band will complete three shows in Germany.
The band had previously appeared earlier this year with their new studio album “CLOSURE / CONTINUATION” after a break of more than ten years. Our video interview with the trio is available here.
Why her comeback couldn’t have been more appropriate
No one expected Porcupine Tree’s dystopian-tinged lyrics to be so relevant a decade or so after their hiatus. As sobering as that fact may seem, Porcupine Tree’s unexpected comeback timing mid-year was all the more fitting.
Steven Wilson, Richard Barbieri and Gavin Harrison celebrated their return at the end of 2021 with the work “CLOSURE / CONTINUATION” and an upcoming tour through America, Great Britain and Europe. The three concerts in Germany in 2023 round off this return.
The Emergence of Porcupine Tree
In 1987 musician and producer Wilson (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards) formed the band. At the same time, Wilson’s post-rock duo No-Man was formed, along with Tim Bowness. Together with Barbieri on keyboards and Harrison on drums, Porcupine Tree released a total of ten studio works between 1992 and 2009.
