Bundesliga soccer club Hertha BSC published a negative annual result in the high double-digit million range at the general meeting. Therefore, the capital club is doomed to save – also on the transfer market. The problem zone in the attack should still be resolved.

After years of sometimes expensive investments in the player market, Hertha BSC will tighten their belts a little in the future. Due to a loss of around 80 million euros and the resulting shrunk equity to just around 30 million euros, personnel costs in particular are to be reduced. The biggest item is, unsurprisingly, the gaming budget.

It is possible that some Hertha professionals could leave the club in winter. Attacker Davie Selke, who was traded at competitor 1. FC Köln, was traded recently. Italy and England are also said to be interested.

Selke’s contract expires in the summer anyway – should there be a winter transfer, the transfer fee should not be too high. Hertha manager Fredi Bobic, as quoted by “Bild”, had let it be known on the sidelines of the general meeting that “no large transfer income was expected, but salary savings”.

Hertha BSC is apparently looking for a new striker

When it comes to possible reinforcements, the Berlin club is primarily looking for players who will not cost a fee. “It’s a difficult market. We look in the market for things that don’t cost anything. But that doesn’t mean they’re bad players,” said the former Frankfurt sports director.

According to “Bild” they are mainly looking for a new attacker. The offensive was not particularly successful until the World Cup break with just 19 goals from 15 games, only the Belgian Dodi Lukébakio convinced with eight competitive goals in the season so far.

In Wilfried Kanga, the old lady had already signed a striker from BSC Young Boys in the summer, but so far he has only scored two goals. Winger Chidera Ejuke, on loan from CSKA Moscow, has not yet scored his own goal in Hertha dress.
