Several North Hollanders will participate in the professional football trainer course next year. The most notable name is that of Corina Dekker, who is the only woman to start the UEFA Pro course.
The former trainer of VV Alkmaar will start the course in May 2023. Last summer, after three years, she was kicked out of the women’s premier league club. Mark de Vries succeeded her at the Alkmaarders.

Hedwiges Maduro is also part of the course. The former international played for Ajax, Valencia, Sevilla and FC Groningen in the past. Michel Kreek from Amsterdam is also aiming for his highest trainer’s diploma. The current assistant coach of Jong Ajax caused a furore at Ajax in the 1990s.
The participants were first selected based on their coaching experience, followed by a selection screening and green light from the UEFA Pro admissions committee. After successfully completing the course, the trainers can independently train a club in professional football.
