Red wave stays out for now, yank to the right in Florida and many new female governors

The feared ‘red wave’ seems to be staying away for the time being in the US, where plenty of votes are being counted after yesterday’s midterms. Striking is the shift to the right of former ‘swing state’ Florida and the election of a possible record number of new female governors, including the country’s first openly lesbian governor. Problems with voting computers marred the elections in the hotly contested state of Arizona, where Republicans seized the opportunity to (again) accuse the Democrats of electoral fraud.
