First, an apartment burned on Löwenberger Strasse in Berlin-Friedrichsfelde. But the flames spread quickly. All residents had to evacuate the building.
At around 7:10 p.m., the fire brigade was called to Löwenburger Straße. First because of an apartment fire on the third floor of the eleven-storey building.
But the fire quickly spread to the floor above and spread to a second apartment. One person died as a result. Attempts were made to resuscitate the person, but any help came too late. According to BZ information, she lived opposite the fire apartment and had tried to escape through the dense smoke.
After heavy smoke development, several residents of the high-rise complained of respiratory problems. A total of eleven people were injured, six of whom had to be taken to hospital.
Since the building was so badly damaged, the house had to be completely cleared afterwards. All residents should leave the house in the evening.
The fire brigade was on site with 92 emergency services. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
