Johnny de Mol has been through hell for the past two years because of the fierce accusations against him. Now that his name has been cleared, many people thought that after six months he would return as a presenter of HLF8, but nothing could be further from the truth. It had been in the air for a while, but the bullet is through the church: Johnny stops with the program.

Johnny quits

The teased Johnny is pretty much through it, according to a statement that Talpa has published via Show news. “Despite the positive results of the investigation, the impact of this entire period for Johnny is heavier than expected. He therefore wants to focus fully on his well-being and that of his immediate environment.”

“Johnny says it was a very difficult decision. He is extremely grateful to the editors of HLF8 for the unbridled commitment and the wonderful adventure they have experienced together. And would like to seize this moment again to thank everyone for all the warm messages he has received over the past period.”

Will HLF8 stop?

Talpa says he respects Johnny’s choice. “We look back on an exciting period in which he gave us beautiful, emotional and high-profile moments as the host of the program.”

Actually, Hélène Hendriks would stop filling in for Johnny after today, but she will continue for a while. “For the time being, Hélène Hendriks and Leonie ter Braak alternately present HLF8. As soon as there is more to report, we will let you know.”

From the tube

Hélène would rather only make sports programs for Talpa and she was initially only appointed as a substitute at HLF8 until November. Leonie switches to RTL after the New Year.

It seems that HLF8 is disappearing from the tube, but there is no clarity about that yet.
