0:1! At Hertha it only bangs behind and above

By Paul Gorgas

Bad evening for Hertha! Hertha loses 1-0 in Bremen in front of 42,100 fans! In the 85th minute, Niklas Füllkrug heads the ball into the net with his 9th goal of the season from 13 meters.

The Friday curse in Bremen continues for Hertha! Previously there had been six bankruptcies (5:21 goals) in all six games on the Weser under floodlights. Fear opponent Bremen! Hertha has only won one of the last 16 Bundesliga duels at Werder. And yesterday was almost nothing.

Marco Richter: “We just weren’t forceful enough.” Hertha only banged at the back when conceding a goal – and unfortunately also at the top of the stands!

Hertha supporters ignite pyrotechnics shortly after kick-off. It burns at the beginning of the second half as well. So only the fan chaos bang, Hertha’s offensive misses everything!

Richter (2nd) and Lukebakio (19th) missed the better chances on the pitch. There was not enough of that overall. There is a gate traffic jam.

There is also a traffic jam in front of the Hertha block! Not all guest fans come in this evening. Many arrive late in the block, some not at all.

Guest fans jostle in front of the entrance because the area seems to be overcrowded with 4,000 people. The police and stewards seal everything off. Many Berlin supporters have to stare in frustration at a screen in the stadium aisles.

What do you see there? After the 2:1 against Schalke, Hertha started with a change (judge for Ejuke) and the offensive 4-4-2 system. But up front, strikers Kanga and Jovetic (out injured in the 32nd minute) remain harmless.

The game is mixed up, there are many duels with more warnings than top chances. For Hertha, Kanga, Lukebakio, Serdar and assistant coach Bulut see the yellow box. At Werder, ex-Herthan players Weiser and Stark are cautioned.

When everyone expects a typical 0-0 with the promoted team, Germany’s best striker strikes. Füllkrug heads a Jung cross in front of Kempf to win Werder in the left corner.

Captain Marvin Plattenhardt: “That sucks, that pisses me off. Both teams fought and fought a lot. It was a zero-to-zero game, then we get such an egg goal.
