“Barca are a great club that needs to win the Champions League. That’s why I came here. I’m here to do everything I can to get back into the Champions League and then go for the cup,” Aubameyang said ambitiously.
“This is the opportunity of my life. Barça is one of the best clubs in the world. I’ve always had a desire to play in La Liga; it’s something I dreamed of as a kid.”
His problem
32-year-old Aubameyang left Arsenal, where he was at odds with trainer Mikel Arteta. “I think it was just his problem. He wasn’t happy and that was it. I can’t say anything else because that’s what happened. I wasn’t very happy and now I feel better,” said the attacker.
“It was a difficult few months. Sometimes football is like that. If I had to say anything about this, I would say for myself that I never had any bad intentions. Now I must put this behind me, because it is in the past. I want to think about the future.”
FC Barcelona, which plays in the second half of the season in the Europa League, is fifth in La Liga. On Sunday, Atlético Madrid is the opponent.
