Evert Sankrediets finds it unbelievable that Rico Verhoeven was given the space to rant about vaccinations and politics yesterday in the talk show Jinek. “Isn’t this a waste of your time?!”
Rico Verhoeven is under considerable fire because yesterday he expressed a number of controversial opinions in the talk show Jinek, which was presented by Beau van Erven Dorens due to Eva’s illness. Not only did he contest the effectiveness of vaccinations, but he also showed understanding for the intimidation of Merel Ek by Forum for Democracy.
‘That’s why I don’t watch’
Private boss Evert Sankrediets is tired of Rico. “It’s the reason why I almost don’t watch talk shows anymore, because there people are raving about things they don’t understand. He mixes up a kickboxing stadium and the House of Representatives to begin with. You should not ask Rico Verhoeven about injections and corona policy.”
He continues in the podcast Strictly Private: “He’s a nice guy, he’s good at his sport and he has a lot of fans, but this reminds me a lot of Anton Geesink who used to be very good at judo, who was an authority in his field, then IOC member and as a result also ended up in talk shows. That man turned out to be knowledgeable about everything.”
‘A waste of your time’
Talk shows must learn that not everyone’s opinion is relevant, says Evert. “I don’t care what Rico Verhoeven thinks of a riot between a Member of Parliament who suddenly starts intimidating journalists with a rotating camera. Rico should not risk that. As a talk show host, you shouldn’t ask him about it either.”
He continues: “Isn’t that a waste of your time? It’s driving me crazy again. You shouldn’t hear that at all.”
Solution
What does Evert think is the solution? “Maybe they should just go back to a talk show where people sit one-on-one with the presenter. Then someone slowly joins, but avoid this posturing. We’ve been talking about it way too long now.”
He belsuit: “Rico about the corona policy and about the situation between MPs and journalists at the Binnenhof, I don’t need to hear that from his mouth.”
