Kickboxer Amir Al Amir (-85 kilograms) kickboxed his second A-match on Saturday. At the Rings Gala in Beverwijk he knocked out his opponent Giuseppe Buda within ten seconds.
“I knew I was going to win, but not that it would be over so quickly. I don’t have a drop of sweat so that’s a good sign,” said a beaming Al Amir afterwards. “After the first swing you noticed that his opponent was bothered by that. He stepped in and Amir was very sharp. He kicked his head and then that was the end of the story”, analyzes trainer Brian Douwes.
Dream
The kickboxer from IJmuiden is ambitious. “I want to become champion of Glory. I’m sure that will work. You have to be sure and then you will work harder for your dream,” 21-year-old Al Amir said.
First professional match
kickboxer Mustapha Benlyazid (-65 kilograms) kickboxed his first professional match on Saturday evening. The resident of IJmuiden lost on a jury decision by Maik Mulder. “If you don’t score any points and you don’t take anyone down, you automatically lose the game,” said a disappointed Benlyazid.
