A dream came true on Saturday evening for eleven-year-old Nova from Rosmalen. She was a big hit last year with a video in which she showed that she can grunt like a real heavy metal star. On Saturday she was invited to the concert by her favorite band. To top it off, she later met Alissa, the band’s figurehead and Nova’s great example.
“It was very special to see them in real life,” Nova looks back with her mother. It was a long-cherished wish of the young heavy metal star, who blew everyone away with her grunt talent in the RTL program Game of Talent last year.
In that program she sang the song The Eagle Flies Alone from her favorite band Arch Enemy, not much later she suddenly received a video message from singer Alissa. Because she too had heard Nova’s grunt talent. This weekend she finally saw her idols in real life. “The band was actually supposed to play in the Brabanthallen last year, but that was canceled due to corona.”
Self a star
The fact that Nova was invited by the band as a special guest did not go unnoticed by the rest of the concert-goers. “She was recognized by the other fans because of her videos of the grunting,” said mother Eva.
So the 11-year-old is well on his way to becoming a star himself. “She is very cool about it herself,” says Eva. “Occasionally she still thinks it’s crazy when people stare at her because they recognize her. But she also secretly thinks it’s very cool.”
