New traffic concept for the Fliegerviertel! The Tempelhof-Schöneberg district office has presented a plan for the neighborhood, which is also known as the garden city of Neu-Tempelhof, which is intended to make the journey easier for cyclists in particular.
The first details were announced at a public meeting.
The concept envisages new bicycle lanes on Werner-Voß-Damm, Loewenhardtdamm, Manfred-von-Richthofen-Straße and Hoeppnerstraße.
In addition, Tempo 30 is to be introduced on Boelckestraße – in some sections, however, only from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Other areas in the north of the district are to be declared a 30 km/h zone.
The measures are intended to protect residents from motorists who use the garden city to bypass, says district councilor Saskia Ellenbeck (Greens) to the BZ
“First of all, we wanted to hear the opinion of the local residents,” she emphasizes. A more detailed concept is to be presented in February.
