Nothing came of the trend reversal, FSV Zwickau also lost the game against SC Freiburg’s second team. In the end it was 0:1. In addition to the final weakness of the hosts, aluminum pitch was added.

Compared to the 2-3 defeat in Saarbrücken, Zwickau’s coach Joe Enochs made two changes. Robert Herrmann and Maximilian Jansen replaced Mike Könnecke and the yellow-red suspended Robin Ziegele in the starting XI.

Guest coach Thomas Stamm rotated after the 3-2 win against Waldhof Mannheim and made five changes. Philip Fahrner, Yannik Engelhardt, Tan Kenneth Jerico Schmidt, Patrick Lienhard and Robert Wagner played for Sandrino Braun-Schuhmacher, Jordy Makengo, Julian Stark, Erik Oscar Wiklöf and Lars Kehl.

Freiburg II decides the game – post cracker Zwickau

The Zwickauers seemed to be still thinking about the 2:3 defeat in Saarbrücken, because they had considerable start-up problems. The FSV kickers in particular did not like the counter-pressing of the young Freiburgers at all, they initially limited themselves to a few switching moments. The scenery was largely determined by the people of Breisgau.

After a good half hour, the “swans” finally woke up and often appeared in front of SCF goalkeeper Niklas Sauter’s goal. But Patrick Göbel (32nd), who had shot directly from the free kick, only hit the post. With 0:0 the sides were switched.

Zwickau’s Jan Löhmannsröben has to defend himself against Freiburg’s Philip Fahrner and Patrick Lienhard.

Breisgauer take the lead – again only aluminum for the “swans”

After the break, Freiburg ruled the game again and took the lead in the 52nd minute. Robert Wagner put the ball on goal, FSV goalkeeper Marcel Engelhardt was able to fend it off at first. Eventually, the game device landed on Vincent Vermeij, who scored the 1-0 for the guests from an acute angle.

Now good advice was expensive, the “swans” were challenged. They tried their best and were unlucky again in the 68th minute when Johan Gomez’s diving header hit the right post. That’s it! Freiburg’s Philip Fahrner had to leave the field early in the 77th minute after an injury and was carried out on a stretcher. There were five minutes of stoppage time, which the Zwickau team could not use to compensate. Difficult times for coach Joe Enochs and his team, which is still sitting in the basement.
