The troubled second division soccer team SpVgg Greuther Fürth has parted ways with coach Marc Schneider.

As the club announced one day after the 2-2 win against Hansa Rostock, Schneider said goodbye to the team on Saturday (October 15, 2022) when they left the team. Initially, the assistant coaches Rainer Widmayer and Stefan Kleineheismann took over the training.

“We’ve tried a lot in the last few weeks, Marc tried everything too, but in the end we have to admit that we’ve improved slightly in terms of points, but not in the way we all imagine.”said Managing Director Sport Rachid Azzouzi.

“The team will work their way out of it”

“Unfortunately, we didn’t score the points we could have. I’m sure the team will work their way out of the current situation,” said Schneider, who had a contract until June 30, 2024.

The Bundesliga relegated team is stuck in the bottom of the table with just one win in twelve games. Schneider only took over the coaching position at Kleeblatt from Stefan Leitl in the summer.
