Guns N’ Roses are currently touring South America and last month also played stadium concerts in countries often neglected by big rock bands like Uruguay, Peru and Chile. Guitarist Slash will probably also remember the drive home after the concert: videos posted by his girlfriend Meegan Hodges on Instagram show that his car was stopped by the police.
The first video shows Hodges and Slash’s car being pulled over by uniformed Carabineros officers. “They just stopped us after the show, here in Chile,” Hodges says as the driver shows his papers to the police. Apparently it wasn’t her first awkward experience on tour: “It’s better than the car crash in London,” she commented.
The car occupants joked about the situation. “Can’t we convince these people to give us a police escort?” Hodges asked loudly. In addition, they speculated about possible crimes committed by the driver. “He’s got three pounds of hash in the trunk,” said an unseen male, believed to be Slash. Hodges added, “What about the head under the passenger seat?” “That was an interesting drive home,” Hodges wrote alongside the videos on Instagram.
Guns N’ Roses are apparently currently working on musical material that comes from the sessions for the album “Chinese Democracy” (2008). At the beginning of the year the EP “Hard Skool” was released with the songs “Absurd” and “Hard Skool”. Meegan Hodges also shared a video of the band’s soundcheck from the current tour, which appears to be of the unreleased track “Oklahoma.” As Slash announced, a new album is also planned.
