A run with On Running through Amsterdam

The days are getting shorter again and the weather is getting worse. If you want to do a lap on the jogging track after work, you either have to hurry or be properly equipped for the dark. The Swiss sportswear brand On Running has presented its latest capsule ‘Lumos’, which is intended to make runners more visible even when there is no sunshine.

The capsule, which ranges from the weatherproof jacket to shorts and tight running trousers to the right shoes, relies on reflective details and a pattern reminiscent of gray clouds. The pieces are priced between 29.95 euros for a headband and 249.95 for a jacket.

In order to present the collection appropriately, On invited to a run in Amsterdam on Wednesday evening, where the running shoes ‘Cloudmonster Lumos’ were tested by a selected group. The venue for the event was the centrally located fashion retailer Oallery, which was transformed into an on-pop-up space. On a roughly seven kilometer long route, they crossed the bridges of the canals and the busy city center of the Dutch metropolis, while it was slowly getting dark and the shoes were used to their fullest by the reflection of the lights.

Afterwards, the exuberant and sometimes a little sweaty runners celebrated the new capsule at Oallery together with the local fashion scene. The running look of the athletes met the casual streetwear style of the other guests – similar to On’s shoe range, where sports shoes and more casual sneakers are offered.

The DJs Mia Cecilie and Deez, who were responsible for the running route, took care of the good mood of the group and passed their favorite places in the city. Of course, they also each provided a mixtape that provided an extra boost on the track.
