Anthony Jung talks to Werder Bremen about extra time

contract expires

Anthony Jung is one of five professionals in Werder Bremen’s current squad whose contracts expire at the end of the season. But this could change shortly. As the “picture‘ and later also the ‘table football‘ reported that negotiations for an extension will soon take place. The left-back has now confirmed this.

“It’s about planning security for me and my wife. Discussions will take place in the coming weeks. There’s a lot to be said for staying here. We feel comfortable here,” said the 30-year-old, who has not missed a game for the Greens this season. Even if the left foot would like to plan his future beyond 2023, he is not putting any pressure on himself or the club in this regard. “I won’t get nervous now and I’ll smash the door up there. If you want to talk, the people in charge know how to reach me.”

Werder Bremen values Jung as a positive character

Jung came to Bremen on a free transfer from Bröndby IF in the summer of 2021 and, according to Clemens Fritz, head of licensing, was an “important building block for promotion” last season, in which he only missed four league games. A total of 40 appearances for the Hanseatic League, which is the fifth professional station for Jung, have been recorded so far.

In addition to his long-running skills, according to “Bild”, his character is also a factor for further cooperation. Jung is always positive and, as a team player, enjoys a good reputation among his colleagues.
