Munich lost first place

Like DEL leaders EHC Munich, Straubing had already qualified for the round of 16 before the final day of the game. But in contrast to the Tigers, the Munich team gambled away first place in the table on Tuesday. Coach Don Jackson’s team lost 4-0 (0-0, 0-3, 0-1) at Finnish champions Tappara Tampere. Veli-Matti Savinainen (24th/37th), Ben Thomas (26th) and Casimir Jürgens (50th) scored the goals for the hosts.

The playoff duels will be drawn next Thursday (4 p.m.) in Zurich. In addition to Straubing and Munich, the Grizzlies Wolfsburg are still represented in the competition.
