The German champions Eisbären Berlin are getting better and better after their sobering start to the season in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). Five days after the 5-2 win over Düsseldorf, the capital city also won 3-1 (0-0, 2-0, 1-1) against the well-started ERC Ingolstadt on Friday evening. Meanwhile, Red Bull Munich is at the top of the table.
Manuel Wiederer, Maximilian Heim and Kevin Clark scored for the Eisbären, who are now in twelfth place with nine points. The 18-year-old Heim scored his debut goal on his DEL debut.
Leaders Munich struggled for a long time against bottom of the table from Bietigheim, but after an increase in performance in the third third they deservedly won 3:2 (1:0, 1:2, 1:0). With 19 points, the reigning runners-up are still four points ahead of second-placed Adler Mannheim, who won 4-1 (3-0, 0-0, 1-1) in Augsburg.
Surprise team Löwen Frankfurt also continued its success story. The newly promoted team beat Düsseldorf EG 4:3 (1:0, 1:2, 2:1) and advanced to sixth place in the direct playoffs.
