Violence against police officers in Berlin has continued to increase. This is the result of police figures reported by the “Tagesspiegel” on Tuesday.
According to this, there were 3,811 attacks last year, compared to 2,967 two years earlier. In 2020, the police had registered 3,505 cases. Several emergency services are often affected.

The actual number of police officers attacked is therefore significantly higher and was 8048 in 2021. Two years earlier, according to the information, 6221 officers experienced violence during the operation.
The police union complains that the tone of the sentence is getting rougher. Police chief Barbara Slowik observes an increasing psychological burden on the emergency services, which increasingly leads to illness. “I would even say that these diseases now make up the majority,” said Slowik of the German Press Agency.
