Review: Tsha :: Capricorn Sun

What does this woman want? When in doubt, everything. But of course, Tsha is a DJ after all – and only secondarily not only an extremely popular, but also one of the most imaginative producers in the world. But when you listen to their long-awaited debut album, the question arises: Can ingenuity get to be too much? Because after various EPs and individual tracks, after heaps of remixes for pop and indie celebrities, Tsha flies through the genres at breakneck speed on CAPRICORN SUN, begins with an over-the-top torch song (“The Light”), lets the summer disco beat flutter ( “Water”), ventures onto the intelligent dance floor (“Power”), seeks proximity to pop (“OnlyL”) or forbids a few breakbeats to stumble (“Dancing In The Shadows”).

It’s impressive how Tsha first develops a straight groove from a piano motif in “Sister” and then turns it into a highly emotional club banger with various vocal samples, synth riffs and a myriad of sound effects, which you can also confidently listen to can listen to comfortably in the wing chair with great benefit. So the individual tracks, a good third of which are already known, are not the problem, but that twelve of them can be heard here in one go. Tsha proves that modern club music can do everything. And if necessary, a little more.
