RIVM notes today that the autumn wave of the coronavirus has now really started. The number of corona infections is also rising in Drenthe.
467 Drenthe tested positive for the corona virus last week, the RIVM reports. That is the highest number since July 26 of this year. Last week, nine Drenthe were hospitalized with a corona infection. No people have died from the virus so far.
Health Minister Ernst Kuipers is not concerned about the rising figures. “This is in line with expectations. We have always said: keep in mind that it will rise again in the autumn. We have to be on top of that.”
The ‘thermometer’ for the coronavirus remains at its lowest level. The thermometer is the successor to the risk level and reflects the state of the pandemic. The RIVM does advise testing in case of complaints and to stay at home in the event of a corona infection. In addition, RIVM hopes that as many people as possible will take the repeat shot.
