“Come on EA Sports, I look like that Toy Story guy!”

A few hours before the victory over Manchester United, Jack Grealish commented on his look on FIFA 23, with a nice combination.

FIFA 23 has been available since last Friday and, like every release of the series for thirty years now, it has not failed to make headlines, neither among fans, nor among professionals. One of them is Jack Grealish, Manchester City winger known more for his millionaire transfer to Pep Guardiola’s court last year than for his performances on the pitch. Grealish didn’t really like how EA Sports portrayed him in the game, and he pointed this out in a social media story.

The commentary against FIFA –

A close-up photo of Grealish in FIFA 23 started running practically in the hours following the game’s release and soon caught the eye of the England international. So, in a story on Instagram, it was he himself who commented on it, halfway between irony and the explicit request for an improvement in his appearance in the title. “Nah, come on, man,” he wrote tagging the official EA Sports FIFA account. “I look like that Toy Story guy !!!!!”. Where that ‘geeza out of Toy Story’ would be Sidney “Sid” Phillipsto which Grealish was immediately approached due to the spacious forehead and the size of the head.

The real Grealish –

As evidenced by one of our in-game shots, to tell the truth, the situation was quite exaggerated from the perspective from which the photo was taken – even more from a TV and not directly from the game.

Clearly, there is a certain room for improvement to which EA Sports will be able to appeal in the coming weeks, perhaps going to retouch one of its star heads as has already happened in several previous cases (especially after a complaint of such high public appeal). Certainly a very curious situation, given that, as a rule, footballers complain to Electronic Arts because of their ratings on FIFA and not for the look. Even more curious if you think that Grealish was the protagonist of the first promotional images of FIFA 23, which is the one you can see on the cover of this article.
