He surpassed the mark that Carles Puyol had reached in 2014, when the captain closed his professional stage with 593 official matches, 392 in the League. Piqué, who in Mallorca played his official match 609, added 393 in the League and is called to enter the select club of 400. Only four Barça players, so far, have exceeded this figure: Leo Messi (520 League matches), Xavi Hernandezcurrent first team coach (505), Sergio Busquetsthe current captain (456) and Andres Iniesta (442).
Pique had already surpassed other mythical defenders who defended the Barcelona shirt, in the case of Michael (391) or the mythical Joan Segarra, the Great Captain, who played 297 matches in the domestic competition. Barça’s fourth defender with the most league appearances is already the left-back and fourth captain Jordi Albawith 293.

Piqué, who is in his fifteenth season in the Barça first team, is the fifth Barça player with the most official matches: 609, surpassed only by Messi (778), Xavi (767), Busquets (686) and Iniesta (674). The centre-back, in addition to the 393 League games, has 123 in the Champions League, 65 in the Cup, 16 in the Spanish Super Cup, five in the Club World Cup and the Europa League and two in the European Super Cup.
