PSV suffered a painful defeat on Saturday: SC Cambuur defeated the Eindhoven team in Leeuwarden with no less than 3-0. It is the second game that PSV has lost this season.
The first half ended in 0-0, but after the break Silvester van der Water made the opening goal from quite a distance. PSV repeatedly tried to force the equalizer, but Gakpo, Obispo and Sangaré all failed to get the ball into the goal. In the 84th minute Mitchell Paulissen put the Frisians at 2-0, Sai van Wermeskerken finished it in the 90th minute with a third goal.
A month earlier, Eredivisie leader PSV suffered its first loss against FC Twente (2-1) in Enschede. SC Cambuur was second to last before the game, but rose to thirteenth place due to the victory.
PSV is no longer the leader in the Eredivisie, but had to give that place to AZ on Saturday evening. The Alkmaarders defeated FC Groningen 4-1. Also Ajax, which drew against Go Ahead Eagles on Saturday, has now surpassed PSV in the standings.
