The problem with the baggage system at Eindhoven Airport has not yet been resolved on Saturday evening. It is still busy at the airport. Due to the problems, passengers can often only get off the plane after a long wait and departing flights are also affected. Eindhoven Airport expects that there will still be problems with the flight schedule on Sunday.
“Unfortunately, the malfunction in the baggage system has not yet been resolved,” reports the airport. “We are working hard on an emergency system.” But that system is not yet in place and the problems with the luggage system will probably also have an impact on Sunday. “The outage has an impact on tomorrow’s flight schedule,” the airport tweeted. She advises travelers to keep an eye on their website for details.
Meanwhile, the passengers who are now at the airport are mainly concerned about the night. “We are afraid that we will soon have to leave the airport,” says Valérie. She’s been waiting for a flight since Saturday morning. “People are stranded, hotels are full, we have nowhere to go. I am now quite comfortable on the couch of a restaurant. I have been standing all day, my back hurts.” She estimates that several dozen people are still stranded at the airport.
“People can’t sleep in the terminals.”
Alexander is also concerned. “One flight after another is being cancelled. People have to go to a hotel or get a new boarding pass for the next day. For example, the flight to Krakow, which has been moved from 2:30 am this afternoon to 9 am tomorrow morning. All hotels in the area are closed.” vol. People don’t know where to go to sleep.”
At the airport is in any case not an option, let the spokeswoman know. “If flights are cancelled, the intention is for the airlines to look for accommodations for travelers. People cannot sleep in the terminals.” No exception can be made in this regard. “We never have night flights, so the terminals always close at night. The doors open again at 4:30 in the morning.”
