Volleyball, Superlega: Zaytsev and the champions from Civitanova move to Taranto

Taranto-Civitanova 0-3 (23-25, 23-25,21-25) The men’s volleyball Super League championship starts again from PalaMazzola in Taranto with the challenge between the reigning Italian champion Lube Civitanova and the Gioiella Prisma, the only volleyball bulwark in the South after the relegation last season of Vibo Valentia. The first three points of the season, as expected, the Lube conquers by trade, who suffers and remains in the game, especially in the first two partials, thanks to the basics of serve and reception. The champions have to do without Yant (on the scoresheet, but kept as a precaution at rest) while the Apulians have the diagonal setter-opposite (Falaschi-Stefani) not at their best due to physical problems.

In the first set Taranto immediately puts pressure on Lube who is two – three points behind until 19-16 for the hosts. When at 19-18 coach Blengini inserts Nikolov for Chinenyeze he resolves the set because the young Bulgarian, born in 2003, puts the home reception in difficulty, also finds an ace and leaves the field with his team at 19-21. Taranto does not give up and tries to get closer (23-24) but closes badly with an error in the service of Loeppky. Also in the second set the Lube builds the victory around the twenty and always monetizing from the serve. Under 19-16 Blengini the Nikolov card is played again, realizing the ace of 20-20; short balance phase broken by another ace Lube (Bottolo for 21-22), two consecutive errors in attack by Taranto deliver as many set balls to Lube who closes in the second with a stroke of genius by De Cecco.
