Aston Villa will be without new signing Boubacar Kamara for a long time. As the “Villans” announced, the 22-year-old midfielder suffered a ligament injury in his knee. “Unfortunately, Bouba will be missing until after the World Cup, that’s a heavy blow. Diego Carlos (torn Achilles tendon, ed.) is already injured, so we will be missing two of our most important players for a large part of the season,” coach Steven Gerrard said at a press conference on Friday.
Kamara is therefore not an option for the squad of the French national team for the World Cup in Qatar, which starts on November 20th. The right foot made his debut for the “Équipe Tricolore” in June and has played three games since then. Kamara switched to Aston Villa for free in the summer from his youth club Olympique Marseille, which he left after 17 years. With a market value of 25 million euros, he is the most valuable free transfer in the club’s history.
