Emil Ruusuvuori was eliminated from the singles of the Tel Aviv ATP tournament on Thursday after facing the Frenchman in the second round Constant Lestienne (ATP-68).
The Finn, who got a quick break in the opening set, couldn’t withstand the Frenchman’s rising mood as the game wore on and lost straight away in two sets 6–4, 6–2. The match lasted one hour and 45 minutes. On Tuesday, Ruusuvuori beat by Jeffrey John Wolf (ATP-75).
Lestienne is currently one of the rising names in the tennis world, as at the beginning of the year he was ranked 228 on the ATP list. The rise to the top 70 is explained by the Frenchman’s success in the ATP Challenger tournaments. Rusuvuori is number 54 in the most recent listing.
Ruusuvuori also played a Portuguese player in doubles on Wednesday Joao Sousa with. The duo’s road ended immediately in the opening round.
