Still skating in Bruges… on artificial ice
‘Many cities and municipalities decided this year not to install ice rinks because of rising energy prices. We are pleased that we can make this possible in Bruges by once again opting for artificial ice’, says Alderman for Spatial Planning Franky Demon.
The skating rink in the Minnewaterpark is one of the nine light experiences during the Wintergloed event. ‘For the skating rink we are once again working together with Glice, the world leader in ecological artificial ice rinks. It is the only synthetic ice that is a realistic copy of natural ice, on which professional ice skating and training is also possible. Glice works with biodegradable maintenance products that have been developed to improve the gliding experience and nourish the slope even better’, concludes Demon.
