The one in the chess cheating frenzy Hans Niemann has sworn his innocence. The 19-year-old American unexpectedly won the number one title in the sport Magnus Carlsenwho was on a 53 game winning streak.
Fans suspected that the young man cheated against Carlsen by using artificial intelligence. According to the wildest theories, Niemann had received a signal from the computer about the correct transfer with the help of a vibrating anal bead.
Attempts to cheat with artificial intelligence have been seen in the sport before. Niemann admitted that he was guilty of cheating at the age of 12 and 16 by remote connection, but never at a real game table.
Chess.com, the largest remote chess platform, removed Niemann’s user at the beginning of September, when the American’s cheating became public.
Niemann accused Carlsen and the world’s most famous chess streamer Hikaru Nakamura for ruining his career.
– I can even undress naked if they want, Neimann said In a BBC article.
– I don’t care because I’m innocent. I can play in closed mode without any kind of data transfer visible. I have come here to win. That’s my goal.
Carlsen himself has not commented on his rival’s cheating suspicions directly, but the duo met again last Monday. That’s when Carlsen stopped the game in protest after only two moves.
According to the BBC, a professor who has investigated chess cheating scandals before Kenneth Regan investigated the Neimann case and found no evidence of cheating.
