Ensorhuis unpacks with exclusive temporary exhibition
The public did not get to see them for more than 50 years, because the works of art are in a private collection. But the Ensor House in Ostend has now managed to show the remarkable series exclusively to the public in the new temporary exhibition.
32 original drawings by Ensor from a private collection. The last time the public could see the works was at the Palace of Fine Arts in Brussels in 1929. They are scenes from the life and suffering of Christ.
Some works are only drawn in red, others have blue and yellow added. But it is Ensorian through and through, also because the artist incorporates a quip in the drawings here and there.
The exhibition runs until November 20 in the Ensorhuis in Ostend. View the report above.
