Spanish clothing retailer Mango has discontinued its Alter Made brand less than a year after its launch.
Launched in November 2021, Alter Made was Mango’s first independent label as the group looked to diversify their portfolio.
Alter Made was priced higher than Mango’s other products and was marketed as a brand with a focus on “sustainability, wellness and conscious consumption”.
According to a report by Spanish fashion magazine Modaes, however, this project has now come to an end. The fashion retailer will now focus on premium products in Mango’s “Selection” collection.
“The Alter Made project has not been able to achieve its planned goals on its own, so the company will incorporate into its structure some of the lessons it has learned over the past 12 months,” Mango told Modaes.
In addition, at the request of FashionUnited, the company said it was offering Alter Made employees the opportunity to switch to Mango.
