Striking influx of asylum seekers from Burundi

The influx of Burundian asylum seekers has increased sharply in recent months. With around 300 applications per month, the African country was in the top five of countries of origin in August. That is what State Secretary for Asylum and Migration Nicole de Moor (CD&V) said in the House. She has already been in contact with the ambassador of Serbia about this sudden influx, through which the Burundians often enter Europe.
