Stockholm (AP) – Emil Forsberg from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig has been named Sweden’s footballer of the year for the first time. The Swedish association announced this late Monday evening.
The 30-year-old offensive player received the so-called Guldbollen in 2021, succeeding Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Forsberg had scored a total of four goals at the EM last summer and failed with Sweden in the round of 16.
