Patty Brard states that Gordon’s staff was informed quite late about the closure of his coffee shop in Blaricum. “They didn’t know anything yet. That was quite painful.”
Gordon will stop his coffee shop Blushing in Blaricum as of October 1. “Due to the enormous staff shortage, it is no longer possible to get things operational,” he announced in a message yesterday Instagram. “It hurts a lot to see your company go down like this in the wake of a global pandemic.”
‘A bit painful’
According to Patty Brard, the reason Gordon announced this news yesterday is because her Shownieuws program already had information about it. “At first he did not want to respond, but after that it went fairly quickly, because then everything was on Instagram and everything was on point, because of course he wanted to tell his story himself,” she says in the show section.
Patty states that Gordon informed his staff quite late. “We also went there for a little while today and our reporter walked in and said to the staff, ‘We heard you’re closing.’ And the staff didn’t know yet. That was quite painful.”
Staff wanted
It seems to have arrived at the staff like a bolt from the blue, according to Patty. “In fact, there was also a pamphlet in front of the door that read: ‘Staff wanted.’ He wanted to finish it well, but he just can’t do it anymore.”
Patty thinks Gordon is increasingly losing his bond with our country. “I understand that when you have settled in Dubai and you are apparently very happy there and you have been there for a year, you think: I am not going to fight this anymore, let’s leave it.”
No bankruptcy
Gordon warns the juice channels not to make more of it than it is. “For the juice channels and other show media: there is no bankruptcy or other acidity. They call this force majeure!”
Gordon’s two catering businesses in Amsterdam will remain open as usual. Patty: “Hope it goes well.”
