Demir again refuses permit for gas-fired power plant in Vilvoorde, power plant in Tessenderlo does receive a permit | Inland

It is the second time that Demir has refused the permit for the power station in Vilvoorde. According to the minister, a technical review shows that Engie “does not use all the best available techniques to keep emissions to a minimum”. Engie’s lighter gas-fired power station would emit more than the heavier power station in Tessenderlo, which, according to Minister Demir, does use the most innovative and best available technologies.

Minister Demir says she hopes that her decision will “finally put an end to the ‘puppet show’ surrounding the gas plants”.
