Photographer William Klein has died aged 96

American photographer William Klein has died at the age of 96, reports the AFP news agency. His death was announced by his son, Pierre Klein.

Klein was involved in various art forms. For example, he worked in graphic design, abstract art, writing, painting, filming, street photography and fashion photography. Among other things, he is credited with "to have revolutionized fashion photography in the 1950s and 1960s". Indeed, he photographed very feminine and elegant designs and models, as well as rugged urban environments.

His son said in the statement to AFP that Klein died peacefully. The funeral will take place in a small circle, a public tribute is planned for a later date.
