Airlines are not prepared to cancel flights tonight at Schiphol’s request at short notice due to the crowds in the departure halls. Currently, the terminals are overflowing with waiting passengers, due to a shortage of security personnel. TUI and Corendon refuse to cancel flights, while Easyjet is still discussing this. Other airlines also fly on.
A Corendon spokesperson tells NH Nieuws that cancellation in such a short term is ‘excluded’. According to the travel organization, this will not only affect travelers at Schiphol, but also holidaymakers who count on their return flight abroad.
TUI Netherlands is not happy with what they believe is unnecessary confusion that Schiphol causes among travelers. The company has not canceled two flights to Curaçao and Tenerife and says it is doing everything it can to ensure that all passengers can catch their flight. TUI indicates that it is disappointed about the chaos that Schiphol has caused.

Schiphol’s request to cancel flights was addressed to the companies departing from Departure Hall 3. The largest airline in that departure hall is Easyjet. The prize fighter is still in consultation about possible cancellations later in the evening.
Other airlines that can be checked in at Departure Hall 3 include Emirates, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines and El Al. Only Turkish Airlines canceled a flight tonight, although it is not known whether this was in response to Schiphol’s request.
No update from Schiphol
The airport itself has so far had no update on the airlines’ willingness to cancel flights.
