Record champion Kiel won 32:22 (14:13) at SC DHfK Leipzig, Flensburg beat GWD Minden 36:23 (20:12) and Foxes beat HSG Wetzlar 37:25 (18:11).
The Kielers had to cope with the most difficult task. Leipzig were solid in defense and had a good goalkeeper between the posts in Mohamed El-Tayar.
