Handball player Boomhouwer back at Aalsmeer: ”Just my club”

Handball player Jeffrey Boomhouwer is back at Aalsmeer. “I now have two children and the oldest is now going to primary school,” Boomhouwer explains on his return to the Netherlands. The handballer has played in Germany for the past twelve years.

So from a sporting point of view, he takes a step back. He chooses the BENE-League, which is less strong than the German Bundesliga. The World Cup for Orange is coming in January and Boomhouwer would of course like to be there. “I have certainly made that decision. There are several guys who play at this level and play in the Dutch team. The BENE league is not so bad that it is not possible. With my experience it should work”, says a confident Boomhouwer .

First match

On Saturday, Aalsmeer played its first game of the season. In De Bloemhof’s own sports hall, Bevo won 34-31. Boomhouwer did not start the match. Trainer Bert Bouwer let Donny Vink start. “Jeffrey comes in a new group and Donny performed super last year. You are doing badly as a coach to let him start,” Bouwer says.

The second round in the BENE-League is scheduled for Saturday. Then Aalsmeer will visit the Belgian Atomix.
