Screaming on Sunday morning around 7.40 a.m. in an apartment on Löwenberger Strasse in Berlin-Lichtenberg. In the end, two people are dead!

A 23-year-old man attacked a 27-year-old with an ax in an apartment on the 9th floor of an apartment building. When police arrived, the man hit the woman who was lying on the ground with an axe, police spokesman Martin Dams said on Sunday. The police then fired shots at the man, fatally injuring him.

The woman succumbed to her severe injuries from the ax blows at the scene.

According to BZ information, the woman is a Ukrainian, and the 23-year-old is a Kosovar Albanian. The relationship between the perpetrator and the victim is still unclear.

Bodo Pfalzgraf, Chairman of the German Police Union in Berlin: “Such operations with gruesome scenes show how dangerous my colleagues live on a daily basis. If emergency services are then attacked in this way, then only the firearm remains as a last resort, because other effective means such as the taser (DEIG) are withheld from us by politicians. Homicide investigations take time, prudence and expertise. I trust our homicide squad!”
