Two years after the original date, the time has finally come: the Total Loss Festival in Best. Throughout the weekend, host Rob – Snollebollekes – Kemps welcomes more than 100 guest artists on the Aquabest site. And of course thousands of visitors, who do feel like a party.
The first tentative ideas for our own festival already bubbled up in 2019. “After our first show in the Gelredome”, Kemps said recently. “We noticed very quickly that our act is perfect for a mass audience. And how nice it is to combine that with other artists. Only on such an evening we have to cram it into three hours.”
Then a festival is the solution. And apparently more people thought that way. The first edition in 2020 was in no time sold out, but the party was canceled twice due to corona.
The party is all the bigger now. “And we give extra gas with not one, but two days of party.” So this weekend the venue is packed with 9 stages, a Ferris wheel and more than 100 guest artists. And that varies from partying with Gerard Joling to beech with DJ Paul Elstak.
Hossing and jumping guaranteed. Even for a woman on crutches, who is not easily knocked off the field by her injury. “This is just a nice party in our own Best, with our own Rob Kemps.”

Two men have scored a sandwich between jumping. “Let’s lay some ground.” For the duo it goes without saying that they will be there this weekend. “We will also be there in the Gelredome. This is the most beautiful party in the Netherlands.”
And even beyond the national borders they know where to find Kemps’ newest musical baby. A man from Flanders has been hoisted into a retro tracksuit by his friends. “Why do we party here? A festival in the Netherlands is different. Give a Dutchman a hat and a flute, and it’s a party.”
