US singer David Hasselhoff (70) is hoping for a speedy recovery from his sick colleague Matthias Reim (64), with whom he recently released a single.
“I admire that he is taking care of himself now,” said Hasselhoff in an interview with the German Press Agency. “I wish him well.”
Reim told BILD on Friday that he had “a serious burnout problem”.
“There’s no other way: I have to cancel all performances planned for the next two months,” said the singer, who also suffers from vocal cord inflammation. He lives in the Lake Constance region in Baden-Württemberg.
What connects the two: Hasselhoff, who has repeatedly struggled with health problems in the past, recorded a cover version of Reim’s 90s hit “Verdammt, ich lieb’ dich” for his album “Party Your Hasselhoff”.
In Florian Silbereisen’s ARD show “Schlagerchallenge 2021” the two then sang the hit “Damnit I Love You” together. The duet was released as a single last July. “He’s a great guy, it was an honor to sing this song with him,” said Hasselhoff about the 64-year-old.
