Cryptocurrency study: Ukraine is the country with the second best crypto score

• The USA achieves the best crypto rating, followed by Ukraine and Great Britain

• Cryptos are particularly popular in countries with weak national currencies, inflation and restrictions on money transactions

• By 2030, the number of crypto users is expected to increase significantly

In view of the huge increase in the number of crypto users worldwide in 2021 (over 300 million), Merchand Machine commissioned a study on the best crypto countries in the world in May. Countries around the world were compared in the categories of monthly crypto sales, total number of users, percentage of crypto users, number of crypto payment options and number of Bitcoin ATMs.

In Nigeria, almost half of the population uses cryptocurrencies

The result: The USA achieves the best ranking, followed by Ukraine in second place and Great Britain in third place. While the USA and Great Britain have great economic power and there is great interest in investing in these countries, this is not the case in Ukraine. The position of the country, whose economy is heavily burdened by the Russian war of aggression, can be explained by the weak national currency, high inflation and restrictions on money transactions. In regions where these traits apply, cryptocurrencies tend to be very popular, according to Merchand Machine.

For example, 12.73 percent of the Ukrainian population uses cryptocurrencies, compared to 8.31 percent in the USA and 4.95 percent in the UK. In Russia (sixth place in the ranking), 11.91 percent of the population use cryptocurrencies. Compared to countries like Nigeria, where as much as 42 percent of the population used cryptos in 2021, these proportions are again relatively small.

Germany does not make it into the top 10 best crypto countries

In the cross-category ranking, India is fourth, followed by Thailand, Russia, France, the Netherlands, Vietnam and Colombia. Germany does not make the top 10 and remains in eleventh place.

In addition to the current figures, Merchand Machine has also had data from previous years evaluated. The result: The number of crypto users worldwide will grow by an average of 14.9 percent by 2030. For Germany, it can be expected that 32 percent of the population will use cryptocurrencies by 2030, for Nigeria, for example, it can be assumed that cryptos will be ubiquitous in eight years (100 percent of the total population).

In view of such numbers, Merchand Machine recommends merchants to accept various cryptocurrencies as payment methods in the next few years in order to continue to offer their customers a good service.
