Between 1994 and 1998 they were considered the dream couple of the Nineties: The then very young British model Kate Moss and Johnny Depp, who starred in Tim Burton’s dark hit film “Edward Scissorhands” (1990) or with his role as “Gilbert Grape” (1993) was already a universally admired Hollywood star.
Kate and Johnny had an excessive rock ‘n’ roll relationship with smashed hotel rooms and all sorts of drug escapades. The international gossip press was enthusiastic.
Now, in an interview with British “Vogue”, Moss – who is always unconventional and genuine in the star model business – looks back on an episode of her riotous togetherness, which in the United Kingdom could probably be called “shocking”.
“We went out to dinner,” Moss told Fashionbaltt. “And he was like, ‘I’ve got something up my butt, can you check it?’ I was like, ‘Excuse me!?’ I put my hand in his pants anyway – and pulled out a diamond necklace. THAT diamond necklace!”
“He literally pulled her out of his ass crack”
The gem was the center of attention for VIP reporters at the time, but how Moss found the treasure was never known at the time. In 1995 a photo of her with the jewels in an exciting white dress by fashion designer John Galliano went around the world. According to her own statements, she “lost it somewhere”.
At 48, the suburban Londoner doesn’t mince words: “And the diamond necklace Johnny gave me was the first diamond I ever owned. He literally pulled her out of his ass crack.”
Moss and Depp are said to have a balanced relationship today. In the defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, Kate Moss was considered a “trump card” by Depp’s legal team. In a brief statement, Moss denied Heard’s allegations that Depp intentionally pushed her down a flight of stairs while they were together.
Another building block in the Depp team strategy to make Amber Heard appear implausible. Against this current background, the treasure fished out of the Depp trousers in the 1990s glitters all the more intensely…
