Baseball: The player flew into the river again

Saarikenttä, which serves as the home sanctuary of Vimpelin Veto, made headlines again. Savonjoki lurking in the backfield claimed yet another wet victim.

This time Joensuu Mailan made the headlines Justus Niemeläinen. The man stopped the ball’s progress, but not his own.

Niemeläinen, 20, flipped down the riverbank in a dangerous-looking somersault and plunged into the Savonjoki. Fortunately, the player survived the wild situation relatively unscathed, but he was replaced from the outfield as a precaution after the situation.

Vimpelin Veto won the first match of the semi-final series 2–0.
