Crazy allegations against 150 Berlin vaccinators

By Johannes Malinowski

Have vaccinators in the capital really behaved so badly?

Between January and November 2021 there are said to have been around 150 complaints against doctors in vaccination centers and from mobile vaccination teams in Berlin. According to “Spiegel”, this emerges from internal documentation from the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Berlin (KV).

The serious allegations:

► Some doctors are said to have been clearly unfit for work. They had trembling hands, showed signs of dementia or even seemed drunk.

► A doctor is said to have used a syringe after it fell on the ground.

► Other doctors are said to have forgotten to disinfect the vaccination site or to document the vaccination.

Irre: The doctors are said to have been paid even if the mission failed.

The fee was tiered. If you canceled one to two weeks beforehand, there was a cancellation fee of 300 euros, up to 48 hours beforehand 500 euros and less than 48 hours the full fee.

4626 services are said to have been canceled up to two weeks in advance. Costs for cancellation fees: at least two million euros!

According to the KV, the complaint rate for 4,800 vaccinators was three percent. The colleagues were warned or excluded from the service. Seven percent of the services were canceled. The KV justifies the payment of cancellation fees with considerable organizational effort for the doctors.

“Fraud in the millions in corona tests and now also horrendous fee payments to doctors for services not provided show in a frightening way how wasteful taxpayers’ money was in Berlin during the corona pandemic,” says FDP health expert Florian Kluckert ( 47).

He calls for a review and development of pandemic plans to avoid such mistakes.
