BrusselsMG, the 28-year-old man from Sint-Joost-ten-Node who drove into a terrace in Brussels on Friday afternoon, will appear before the investigating judge this weekend. The Brussels public prosecutor asks for his arrest for attempted manslaughter.
On Friday afternoon, the 28-year-old MG from Sint-Joost-ten-Node drove into the terrace of Le Corbeau in the Sint-Michielsstraat in the center of Brussels at high speed. In the end, three people were slightly injured. They were taken by ambulance to the Sint-Jan Hospital in Brussels. A manhunt has been launched for the perpetrator. The van was found half an hour after the facts in the Middaglijnstraat in Sint-Joost-ten-Node, but there was no trace of the perpetrator. He was eventually arrested around 4 p.m. in the Luchtbal district of Antwerp.

In the evening a search was carried out in his flat in the Saksen-Coburgstraat in Sint-Joost-ten-Node. He lives there with his parents and sister. “The perpetrator himself was interrogated on Friday evening and made available to the Brussels public prosecutor,” the prosecutor said on Saturday. “We have applied for an investigating judge for attempted manslaughter.”
MG will probably appear before the investigating judge on Saturday. The public prosecutor does not want to give more information at the moment. There is also no communication about the motive of the man, although the arena of a terrorist attack is abandoned. According to witnesses, the driver was frustrated by the new Brussels circulation plan.
